Glengarry was a hive of activity last Friday when nine employees of HR company, Brookfield Johnson Controls worked alongside regular Glengarry contract gardeners Josh Bland and Maxi Dubois. As part of its work environment, Brookfield Johnson Controls gives each of its staff members two paid leave days each year to work with, and give back to, the community or charitable organisation of their choice. Tom Money, who works at Brookfield Johnson Controls has been a volunteer at Glengarry for some time and this year convinced his colleagues to spend their community days working on the gardens of the Mosman aged care facility, meeting some of the residents and creating a lovely outdoor environment. The group of volunteers which included (in no particular order!) Sinead O’Flaherty, Isabella Piccioni, Carlie Gross, Shirley Lee, Gabrielle Viola, Ellen Braid, Karen Bryant, Dash Siraskanda and Tom Money worked tirelessly in extremely hot and humid conditions and were rewarded with happy and grateful smiles from residents and staff members. This is a brilliant initiative and we hope we can encourage more volunteers at all of our facilities. On behalf of everyone at Twilight Aged Care, THANK YOU guys. It was an absolute joy to have you at Glengarry and we look forward to welcoming you back another time.
