Life at Horton House

2018 saw the return of Zumba, Tai-Chi and Art Therapy to our homes.

Horton House has had some lovely visits from the schools in our local areas, providing entertainment for the ladies as well as having students volunteering and helping out with activities. The students from Ravenswood Girls have been visiting our residents at Horton House in Gordon on a regular basis after school much to the delight of the residents, with some lovely friendships forming between residents and students.

We have recently started a Gardening Club and our residents have been busy planting herbs in the garden which will be used for cooking in the kitchen over the coming months.

There have also been quite a few outings over the last few months. The residents recently enjoyed a picnic lunch at Cronulla Beach, enjoying the last of the lovely warm summer weather. We celebrated St Patricks Day around our homes with plenty of entertainment and activities and all things green.

We look forward to the Sing Australia Choir who volunteer their time to perform for the residents. We also enjoy the talents of Meiling, another volunteer who comes along to play the piano as our residents enjoy a hearty sing-along.

As Easter approaches we will have Rev Michael Barnes from the Uniting Church deliver the Easter sermon on 27th March 2018.
