We are very proud of 91-year-old Hunters Hill Village resident, Madeleine Doutreband, who on Australia Day this year became the proud recipient of a Randwick City Council Community Service Award. The award recognised Madeleine’s long-standing commitment to community work within the Randwick area and her dedication to helping others.
Madeleine is a founding member of the Ladies Committee of the Children’s Cancer Institute’s longest-standing volunteer group. The committee was set up in 1977 to help raise funds to establish a research facility at the Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital in Randwick, and to help support other worthwhile research projects throughout Australia.
Twilight is privileged and very proud to have residents like Madeleine within our community. This award has provided an opportunity to celebrate her contribution and promote the importance of volunteering.
