Amazing to think that as we plan the 100th birthday celebrations of Twilight Aged Care next year, Canberra is celebrating its own Centenary this year.

Did you know? Horton House, was the result of a very generous bequest from the estate of Mr. Lewis Hey Sharp in 1974. This comprised property on the corner of Ravenswood Avenue, Gordon as well as considerable supportive funds. With the permission of Mr. Sharp’s three nieces and a subsidy from the Australian Government, a new Home was designed for the site to accommodate 34 residents. It was opened in 1979 by Senator the Honourable Dame Margaret Guilfoyle.
