A BIT OF HORTON HOUSE HISTORY

Canon and Mrs. W. Hey Sharp with their three sons, Granville, Lewis and Percival

Did you know?  Horton House, was the result of a very generous bequest from the estate of Mr. Lewis Hey Sharp in 1974.  This comprised property on the corner of Ravenswood Avenue, Gordon as well as considerable supportive funds.  With the permission of Mr. Sharp’s three nieces and a subsidy from the Australian Government, a new Home was designed for the site to accommodate 34 residents.  It was opened in 1979 by Senator the Honourable Dame Margaret Guilfoyle.
