Hunters Hill Village

Lovely Aged Care facility with fewer residents than most, which gives it quite a homely feel. We looked at quite a few in Sydney, and not all have this warm feel. The decor is updated as of a couple of years ago and it has a nice cream palate and vacation vibe to it. The chef is excellent, and unlike some places that impose rigid visit times, family are welcome to visit any time, which is so incredibly important! I recommend Mari (FM) and her wonderful team and thank them for making my parents' stay so enjoyable. Thank you! -Joanna Shore

My Aunt Shirley, aged 96, entered Twilight Hunters Hill six months ago, before she moved to Canberra to be closer to her family. Both she and I could not speak highly enough about the kindness and loving concern shown by all the staff, led by the ever happy and helpful Mari. Shirley's room was lovely and large, with tranquil views onto trees and the position in Hunters Hill was attractive and quiet. Shirley developed a strong bond with the staff and visiting medical team at Hunters Hill and they were enormously kind and affectionate to her. There is a very happy and special team atmosphere at Twilight and the staff seem to have coped admirably without complaint about all the additional work caused by Covid testing, registering onsite, etc. When Shirley left Hunters Hill the staff gave her the fondest of farewells, and lots of tears were shed on both sides. We are pleased she is now with us here, but we could not have asked for better care than she received in her stay at Twilight, and she misses all of you a great deal. Thank you so much for everything you did for Shirley and for us, you were amazing. Hi Mari Thank you for all the help and support with Val in the last few months. It was a comfort to know that she was cared for when we couldn't always be there. I'm glad that she died peacefully, having said farewell to many of her family members. Sincerely, Hilary Dear Mari and the whole team at HHV. I wish to echo Hilary’s message of thanks to you all. From the first virtual tour and paperwork throughout Val’s time with you, your care, concern and compassion has been hugely appreciated by us all. We are so glad Val spent her last months in a place we could trust her to, and in which we knew she was being well looked after. I think it very special that this room at Hunters Hill was just across the harbour from where Val was born in Lane Cove some 93 years before. Of course in between she travelled far and wide and lived a wonderful life. It was especially beautiful for us that Hilary was there with Val when she passed away and that just 20 mins before, we, her nieces, were all able to see her and speak with her, how special, and say our goodbyes. To whom it may concern at Twilight Hunters Hill Village – I am a resident at the above village. Prior to Twilight I was in many hospital wards, aged care etc. I find my room – modern, clean with garden views, peaceful. The staff here are efficient as I have many medical needs. The grounds were a beautiful sand stone church and café making this six star coffee. The food is well cooked, good quality, great choices and ample. We can eat/dine in the modern dining room. Social rooms are available as well, outings etc. Thank you, Frank M.

"Our Mum in law is a resident at twilight and has been permanent for over 14 months. She has settled in very well and is happy and contented. We are so grateful that she feels safe and secure as she was at first reluctant to leave her home. We are especially pleased with the excellent care she receives, COVID challenges the staff have had with the Covid 19 pandemic restrictions. Esme is 99 and turns 100 in June. The staff are attentive to her needs, letting us know immediately if there are any issue even minor ones, we are kept up to date with her mental and physical health. We are so pleased we found Twilight, it is an excellent care home." Catherine and Rick.

Dear Members of the staff at Twilight Hunters Hill Village. What a magnificent celebration you arranged for the 104th birthday of Sheelagh G!! It was an occasion that I (and I’m sure) all those who love Sheelagh, will long remember with gratitude and joy. You all contributed your time and expertise to make Sheelagh's day one that she will never forget from the special birthday dress to theatre themed decorated birthday cake, to the video presentation to the festive transformation of the hall, wonderful food, a musical contribution from the famous Col Joy and attendance of so many VIP - and much more. Given the media coverage of the plight of others in aged care, I truly believe Sheelagh is incredibly fortunate to be with you in Hunters Hill Village. You each treat Sheelagh with respect, and care for her with great kindness. You know her as the unique human she is. Sheelagh is contented and happy here. Good Afternoon, dear Mari! I trust you enjoyed the extra day on the weekend, as you surely deserve it. Marilyn and I were blown away with the exceptional morning tea you put on for Mum yesterday, it was way in excess of what we’d expected. All of the lovely residents were in attendance in the decorated hall and the room was set for a delightful cooked morning tea. So extravagant. I must say, Lauren managed a truly impressive affair. Putting all that together is not a trifle, it takes time and effort and the arranging and timing is not lost on Marilyn and me. Your wonderful staff are a credit to you.
