Celebrating our volunteers- meet Liz and Laura
There’s a saying that “Volunteers do not necessarily have the time, they just have the heart.” (Elizabeth Andrew)
Our Twilight Family volunteers certainly have heart, and also manage to find the time, energy and commitment to connect with our residents in ways that can truly change lives, for both parties.
As we celebrate Volunteer Week 2025 with gatherings across all of our five Twilight Homes, two of our Volunteer program participants have offered to share their story and their perspective, a particularly nice story demonstrating that volunteering isn’t a one way street. The volunteers may learn new skills from their companion as much as the other way around, especially when it’s a lovely intergenerational match.
Meet Liz, Glades Bay Garden resident, and Laura, the volunteer Liz was paired with through Twilight’s comprehensive program run by our Volunteer Coordinator Tweety Kwok.

Thank you so much Liz and Laura, for sharing your experiences with us.
Happy Volunteers Week to all the volunteers in our Twilight Family and the community- you are amazing.
